Configuring Chat Rooms

Note: Your experience differ from the instructions shown below depending on the XMPP client you're using. The instructions below were created using Gajim on Windows Desktop.

Here's an overview of the different options available to Chat Room Owners and Administrators:

General Configuration

To access the General Configuration options for your room, click the Chat Details and Settings button:

Chat Room settings are located under the Administration section:

The Manage section allows you to change the room Name, Description and Subject. This is also where you would come to permanently delete (Destroy) the room:

The Affiliations section allows the Owner to manually add users to the chat and set their Admin/Owner status:

The Outcasts section allows admins to ban specific users from the Chat Room:

The Configuration section contains all other Chat Room configuration options, including password protection and privacy settings. Remember to take the time to configure this section!
